John Elvidge QC, with Matthew Donkin and Richard Holland of New Park Court Chambers, was instructed to prosecute one of the most complex modern slavery cases seen to date in the North East.

After a trial lasting 15 weeks at Teesside Crown Court seven defendants have been sentenced for their part in trafficking and exploiting vulnerable people from central Europe over a period of 7 years. The case attracted considerable media attention, which can be found here
