Prison Officer, David Whitfield, sentenced to 6 years and 9 months

Anne Richardson led Rachael Landin for the prosecution of David Whitfield, a prison officer from Low Newton women’s prison charged with misconduct in a public office.  Whitfield was convicted after a trial lasting more than 3 weeks at Teesside Crown Court.  For press coverage please click here

Doctor Hossam Metwally poisoned partner in ‘exorcism ritual’

  After an extraordinary trial lasting eight weeks an anaesthetist has been convicted of endangering his partner’s life by administering clinical sedative drugs during purported exorcism rituals.
