synopsis
Bill is a well respected and formidable member of the Criminal team who has practised in crime on the North Eastern Circuit and from London since 1973.
He has undertaken serious cases right across the spectrum of criminal offences including homicide, corporate manslaughter, kidnap and torture. He prosecutes and defends in cases of serious and complex fraud and is also renowned for his experience in the field of Health and Safety, stemming in part from his extensive personal injury practice. In addition he regularly receives instructions on matters within the Family Division.
Bill sits as a Recorder in the Crown and County Court throughout the North Eastern Circuit and in London.

- R v Bradway Construction : representing the employer Company in a fatal accident when a suspended cradle collapsed causing 4 painters to fall to a flat roof below; one fatality and serious injuries to three other victims.
- R v Mascarenas & Ors : Instructed by Casework Directorate, Ludgate Circus, Suffolk Police - An advance fee fraud involving the setting up of an airline, Zircon Airways.
- HSE v Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council : Representing Doncaster MBC. The Council had for a second time caused or permitted the fatal electrocution of employee.
- R v Preston, McKenzie Phillips (IL) Ltd and the Ford Motor Co : Corporate Manslaughter. An employee drowned in the paid recycling tank at the Ford Plant in Southampton.
- R v Mahoood & Others : Manchester Crown Court; Conspiracy to supply Class A.
