synopsis

After successfully completing her pupillage in September 2010, Kayleigh has an expanding practice in all major areas of law, including crime, civil, family and employment. Kayleigh worked in a Leeds solicitors firm as a civil caseworker for a year before commencing pupillage.

Criminal Law

Kayleigh has been instructed in a variety of criminal cases, both for the prosecution and defence, regularly appearing in the Magistrates and Crown Court. As well as being regularly instructed by defence solicitors, Kayleigh has undertaken cases for the probation service, G4S and the CPS in the Crown Court. Kayleigh has appeared in several sentence hearings. Kayleigh is regularly instructed to appear in Magistrates trials both for the CPS, G4S and Defendants and is looking to develop her Crown Court practice.

Family Law

Kayleigh has gained a wide range of experience in both private and public family cases, including final and interim hearings where she has represented parents. She has been involved in many contested contact and residence cases. Kayleigh has negotiated very positive outcomes for her clients in several of these cases. Kayleigh also accepts instructions in matrimonial finance cases and committal proceedings.

Civil Law

Kayleigh has a growing civil practice, particularly in employment law. She has undertaken lengthy tribunals for both claimants and respondents in unfair dismissal and discrimination cases. Kayleigh regularly appears in the county court representing both Claimants and Defendants in personal injury cases, small claims, infant approvals, credit hire and contract cases. She has also been involved in fast track cases.

Kayleigh also provides written advice on liability and quantum and is willing to consider instructions on a CFA basis.
