mediation
Dere Street is pleased to offer the services of one of our five CEDR mediators (mediators accredited by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution).
Mediation across all our areas of practice
Covering the full range of Chambers' areas of practice (including mediation in family law), Mediators can act as independent third parties who will attempt to assist the parties to a dispute to resolve it without recourse to litigation. Alternatively, CEDR mediation may be able to help settle litigation that is already underway.
A solution that is acceptable to both parties
The great advantage of mediation is that no party can be compelled to agree, but once agreement is reached it is contractually binding and effective to compromise litigation. Apart from significant cost savings, mediation offers the prospect of a solution acceptable to both parties whereas litigation often results in neither party being entirely happy with the outcome and may result in long-term damage to commercial relationships.
Members of the team are always happy to provide advice and guidance on how CEDR mediators work, and the general process of mediation. Our dedicated clerk is able to assist on venues and costs.
