Another of our specialities is the law and children. We are regularly instructed in all forms of private law proceedings to represent parents and children. We do this directly as well as through the Official Solicitor, the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) and the National Youth Advocacy Service. We have experience in the competence of children to give instructions, applications under the court's inherent jurisdiction, applications to take children abroad on a permanent basis and disputes that might arise concerning education. Members also undertake all types of emergency and injunctive remedies.
Public law work with children
Our public law work, which includes care proceedings, secure accommodation applications and all aspects of domestic and foreign adoption, involves representation of local authorities, parents, and other family members, Children’s Guardians and the Official Solicitor.
Specialised areas of Children Law
We also have experience in other specialised areas of children law including children’s Human Rights Act applications, Judicial Review and international child bbduction.
